Thursday, March 8th, Aaron Jensen and seven other playwrights locked themselves in Trafalgar Castle overnight for a Driftwood Theatre fundraiser. From 9pm until 5am, Aaron and actor/writer/comedian Sophia Fabiilli, wrote a new 10 minute musical, Midnight at the Laundromat. In the wee hours of the morning, they passed their script and scores along to director, Marcia Kash, and actors Tahirih Vejdani and James Dallas Smith. All six new works were premiered to over-capacity audiences the following evening, and Fabiilli and Jensen’s new work was voted the Audience Favourite. Hats off to Driftwood Theatre, their staff and volunteers, and all writers, directors, and actors, for pulling off such an enjoyable, and amazingly tightly run program.
